Tavel
Tavel is a dry, full-flavoured rosé from the Southern Rhône Valley in France, usually made from Grenache alongside grapes such as Cinsault and Syrah. Expect strawberry, raspberry and red cherry with herbs and gentle spice. Richer than most rosés, it’s brilliant with grilled chicken, salmon, BBQ food, pizza, charcuterie and Mediterranean dishes.


Grenache Rosé
Grenache Rosé is a dry, fruity rosé made from Grenache, particularly popular across southern France and Mediterranean wine regions. Expect strawberry, raspberry and watermelon with citrus, herbs and gentle spice. Fresh but full of flavour, it’s brilliant with prawns, grilled chicken, salmon, pizza, salads and Mediterranean dishes.


Vermentino
Vermentino is a dry, crisp white best known from coastal Italy, particularly Sardinia and Liguria, with lemon, lime and green apple alongside fresh herbs and a salty, mineral edge. Bright, Mediterranean and made for seafood, it’s brilliant with prawns, grilled fish, seafood pasta, calamari, pesto and fresh salads.


Roussanne
Roussanne is a dry, medium to full-bodied white grape best known from France’s Rhône Valley. Expect pear, peach and apricot with white flowers, herbs, honey and gentle spice. Rich but fresh, it’s brilliant with roast chicken, pork, grilled fish, creamy pasta, mushroom dishes and herb-heavy Mediterranean food.


Bardolino
Bardolino is a light, dry red from Veneto in northern Italy, made mainly from Corvina, with other local grapes often joining the party. Expect juicy cherry, strawberry and raspberry with gentle spice and barely-there tannins. It's an easy-drinking red that's brilliant with pizza, tomato pasta, chicken, antipasti and lighter Italian dishes.


Zweigelt
Zweigelt is a dry, light to medium-bodied red from Austria, packed with juicy cherry, raspberry and plum, often with a little pepper and spice. Fresh, fruity and easy to drink, it's a great match for roast chicken, pork, sausages, burgers, pizza and charcuterie – and it's one of those reds that's pretty happy being served slightly chilled.


Verdicchio
Verdicchio is a dry, crisp white from the Marche region of central Italy, known for lemon, green apple and pear flavours with herbs, minerals and a distinctive almond finish. Fresh but full of character, it’s brilliant with prawns, grilled fish, seafood pasta, roast chicken, risotto and fresh Mediterranean dishes.


Picpoul de Pinet
Picpoul de Pinet is a bone-dry, light-bodied white from the Languedoc in southern France, made from the Picpoul grape. Expect lemon, lime and green apple with fresh herbs and a salty, mineral edge. Crisp, zesty and made for seafood, it’s brilliant with oysters, mussels, prawns, crab, calamari and grilled fish.


Moscato
Moscato is a sweet, highly aromatic white wine most famously associated with Italy, packed with peach, apricot and citrus alongside orange blossom and honeysuckle. Often light in alcohol and sometimes gently sparkling, it’s brilliant with fruit desserts, cheesecake, spicy Asian food, fresh berries and creamy desserts.


Montepulciano
Montepulciano is a dry, medium to full-bodied red from Italy, best known in the Abruzzo region. Expect juicy black cherry, plum and blackberry with herbs, spice and a touch of earthiness. Rich without being overly heavy, it’s a brilliant match for pizza, lasagne, spaghetti bolognese, burgers, sausages, roast meats and mature cheese.


Lambrusco
Lambrusco is a sparkling red from Emilia-Romagna in northern Italy that can range from bone-dry to noticeably sweet. Expect juicy cherry, strawberry, raspberry and blackberry with refreshing acidity and plenty of fizz. It's brilliant with pizza, lasagne, charcuterie, Parmesan, burgers and anything involving prosciutto or salami.


Greco di Tufo
Greco di Tufo is a dry, medium-bodied white from Campania in southern Italy, made from the Greco grape. Expect lemon, green apple and pear with stone fruit, herbs and a distinctive mineral edge. Fresh but full of character, it’s brilliant with seafood, prawns, grilled fish, seafood pasta, roast chicken and fresh Italian dishes.


Falanghina
Falanghina is a dry, fresh white from Campania in southern Italy, known for crisp lemon, green apple and pear with white flowers, herbs and a mineral edge. Bright, citrusy and made for Mediterranean food, it’s brilliant with prawns, grilled fish, seafood pasta, pizza, roast chicken and fresh tomato dishes.


Cinsault
Cinsault is a dry, light to medium-bodied red best known in southern France, with plenty also grown in South Africa and around the Mediterranean. Expect juicy raspberry, strawberry and red cherry with floral notes, herbs and gentle spice. Fresh and easy-drinking, it’s brilliant with roast chicken, pork, charcuterie, pizza, grilled vegetables and Mediterranean food.


Zinfandel
Zinfandel is a bold, dry red best known from California in the United States, packed with ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum alongside pepper, spice and often a touch of vanilla. Full-bodied, fruity and usually generous in alcohol, it’s brilliant with BBQ ribs, burgers, pulled pork, steak, pizza and rich tomato-based pasta.


White Zinfandel
White Zinfandel is a sweet to off-dry rosé from California, made from the red Zinfandel grape. Expect strawberry, raspberry and watermelon with peach and citrus, all wrapped up in a light, easy-drinking style. Fruity and refreshing, it’s brilliant with spicy Asian food, BBQ chicken, salads, fruit dishes and creamy cheeses.


Viura
Viura is a dry, fresh white grape best known from Spain, particularly Rioja, where it’s used for everything from crisp young whites to richer, oak-aged wines. Expect green apple, pear and citrus with floral, herbal and sometimes nutty notes. It’s brilliant with seafood, grilled fish, roast chicken, tapas, salads and creamy pasta.


Viognier
Viognier is a dry, aromatic white grape best known from France’s Rhône Valley, packed with peach, apricot and honeysuckle alongside citrus, spice and a rich, silky texture. Full-flavoured but beautifully fragrant, it’s brilliant with roast chicken, creamy pasta, prawns, Thai curry, grilled fish and aromatic Asian dishes.


Verdejo
Verdejo is a dry, crisp white from Spain, best known from the Rueda region, with flavours of lime, green apple and grapefruit alongside herbs, tropical fruit and a subtle bitter edge. Fresh, aromatic and seriously refreshing, it’s brilliant with seafood, sushi, salads, roast chicken, tapas and grilled vegetables.


Toro
Toro is a bold, dry red from Castilla y León in northwestern Spain, made mainly from a local expression of Tempranillo known as Tinta de Toro. Expect blackberry, black cherry and plum with spice, cocoa and smoky oak. Full-bodied and powerful, it’s brilliant with steak, roast beef, lamb, BBQ ribs, burgers and slow-cooked meat.
