Roussanne
Roussanne is a dry, medium to full-bodied white grape best known from France’s Rhône Valley. Expect pear, peach and apricot with white flowers, herbs, honey and gentle spice. Rich but fresh, it’s brilliant with roast chicken, pork, grilled fish, creamy pasta, mushroom dishes and herb-heavy Mediterranean food.


Moscato
Moscato is a sweet, highly aromatic white wine most famously associated with Italy, packed with peach, apricot and citrus alongside orange blossom and honeysuckle. Often light in alcohol and sometimes gently sparkling, it’s brilliant with fruit desserts, cheesecake, spicy Asian food, fresh berries and creamy desserts.


Viognier
Viognier is a dry, aromatic white grape best known from France’s Rhône Valley, packed with peach, apricot and honeysuckle alongside citrus, spice and a rich, silky texture. Full-flavoured but beautifully fragrant, it’s brilliant with roast chicken, creamy pasta, prawns, Thai curry, grilled fish and aromatic Asian dishes.


Syrah
Syrah is a bold, dry red grape best known from France’s Rhône Valley, producing wines packed with blackberry, blueberry and plum alongside its signature black pepper, herbs and savoury spice. Full-bodied and structured, it’s brilliant with steak, roast beef, lamb, BBQ ribs, burgers, sausages and slow-cooked meat.


Shiraz
Shiraz is a bold, dry red best known from Australia, packed with ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum alongside black pepper, spice and often a touch of chocolate. Full-bodied, rich and warming, it’s brilliant with steak, BBQ ribs, burgers, roast lamb, sausages, brisket and slow-cooked beef.


Semillon
Sémillon is a versatile white grape best known from Bordeaux in France and Australia’s Hunter Valley, producing everything from crisp, dry whites to rich, honeyed dessert wines. Expect lemon, apple and pear with waxy, nutty and honeyed notes as it develops. It’s brilliant with seafood, roast chicken, creamy pasta, soft cheese and fruit desserts.


Marsanne
Marsanne is a dry, medium to full-bodied white grape best known from France’s Rhône Valley, with ripe pear, peach and melon alongside white flowers, almonds and gentle spice. Grenache
Grenache is a dry, medium to full-bodied red grape originally from Spain but now a star across southern France and beyond. Expect ripe strawberry, raspberry and cherry with herbs, pepper and warming spice. Chardonnay
Chardonnay is a dry white grape originally from Burgundy, France, and now grown virtually everywhere wine is made. Its style ranges from crisp lemon and green apple to rich peach, butter, vanilla and toast. Ridiculously versatile, it’s brilliant with seafood, roast chicken, creamy pasta, salmon, mushroom dishes and soft cheese.


Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, dry red originally from Bordeaux, France, and now grown pretty much everywhere that takes wine seriously.
